Several members of the Silver Creek Fire Department will
be assisting our brother & sister firefighters at the St.
Anna Fire Department. Along with other area departments,
Silver Creek firefighters will be staffing the St. Anna
fire station, as they remain out of service while they
deal with the physical & emotional tolls suffered during
the incident at Bremer Manufacturing. |

The members of the Silver Creek Fire Department with great
sorrow, convey our deepest sympathies to the family &
friends of 33 year old firefighter Steve "Peanut" Koeser & the St. Anna Fire Dept.
Firefighter Koeser was
fatally injured during an explosion while battling a fire
at Bremer Manufacturing.
St. Anna firefighters were extinguishing the dumpster & a
large drum when the explosion occurred. Fire Investigators
believe metal byproducts in waste bins, aluminum chips &
impurities from furnaces, may have reacted to the water
being used by the firefighters & sparked the explosion.
Eight other firefighters were hurt, including 28 year old
firefighter Brad Woelfel, who remains hospitalized in fair
condition.
Please keep the family & friends
of Firefighter Koeser, Firefighter Woelfel, & the St. Anna
Fire
Dept. in your prayers as they endure this unspeakable
loss.
Funeral mass will be
held on Jan. 2nd at 2:00pm at the St. Ann Catholic Church.
Burial will take place in the church cemetery. In lieu of
flowers a memorial has been established in his name to be
used for future needs of his daughter, Lexus |
