The Random Lake District Explorers is a learning for life program that consists of the Silver Creek Fire Department, Random Lake Fire Department, Beechwood Fire Department, and the Adell Fire Department.  The program's primary goal is to introduce young men and women ages 14-18 to the fire and EMS service.  Learn first-hand how exciting a firefighter or EMT's job is by working along side them.

Goals of the Explorers:
  - Receive guidance in facing serious challenges
  - Develop relationships with adult firefighters and EMS personnel
  - Know how to use support systems
  - Achieve a reliable basis for making informed decisions
  - Believe in a promising future with real opportunities
To experience the excitement and challenge of being an Explorer, you must meet the following requirements:
  - Be 14 to 18 years old
  - Complete 8th grade
  - Maintain a 2.0 GPA
  - Good physical health
  - Have parental or guardian consent
Although Explorers are allowed to respond to fires as part of training, they are not allowed the following for safety reasons:
 

- Respond to mutual aid calls in another town
  - Leave school to respond to calls
  - Respond to calls past 9:00pm on school nights
